Brittney - Introduction

Hey everyone! I'm Brittney and I'm a senior and a journalism major. I went over my goals in class but academically I'm just hoping to graduate on time in May and with a stronger idea of exactly what it is I want to do professionally once I'm finished here. As I said in class, I love movies/film/whatever you prefer to refer to it as, and I think film journalism (and the film industry in general) could definitely use some younger, more diverse voices and I'd love to be one of them.

Media consumption is a huge part of my life, not only because it's something that I enjoy just for fun, but because it's something I like to write about. Social media in particular has been incredible when it comes to connecting me with people who share the same passion I do about a particular movie, show, song, or even just the new Yeezys. At the same time, the access everyone has to the same media makes it that much harder to get a foot in the door. It all seems very new and with the constant change it'll be interesting to learn and figure out how to make it work for everyone, especially writers.

Here's a photo from what was probably my second favorite movie (the first was The Lion King of course), and this is a link to Drake being a brat over a tuna sandwich. It serves as a nice reminder to never forget your beginnings.
