My name is Jeremy Olshvang and I am a junior here at Rutgers Newark. My major is video production with a minor in journalism. In addition to being a full time student I also work as a server in a restaurant and a sales associate for Sunglass Hut in the Short Hills Mall, though those are just stepping stones to get to where I really want to be in the future. My long term goals are to graduate and eventually end up in a career that allows me to pursue my interest of media, hopefully incorporating my love of video making in some capacity. Ever since I was in middle school I have been fascinated two things: media and video making. As social media became more and more omnipresent in the world, my interest in all things media grew even more as I continued to see more opportunities in it as a potential future career. I love being an active member of social media and seeing all there is to discover about people and the world through its many outlets. It never ceases to amaze me what you can learn from examining the effects of various forms of media on the world, and I am very excited to study it even further in this course as well as being guided towards the right direction in accomplishing my long term goals.
