Hey guys! My name is Renee. I’m a senior, a journalism
major, and legal studies minor. My academic goal is to *hopefully* graduate by
May, and learn as much as I can with journalism and some video production.
After graduation, I would love to work for a women’s magazine and/or succeed
with photojournalism. Although my main interests are in beauty and fashion, I’m
also extremely passionate about covering international affairs. The media fits
in to my life because I am constantly on Twitter, Instagram, or Youtube.
Media consumption has had huge impacts on my life. At first,
I wasn’t sure about which genre of writing I wanted to delve into. It wasn’t
until I started working at Sephora and witnessed a force in the beauty industry
in action (via advertisements in magazines, being featured by beauty vloggers
on youtube/instagram, working with other brands etc.) that I decided that I
found my niche. Working in the beauty
industry has interested me in what lies beyond what’s physical, finding the
beauty in what is real, promoting positive body image, and challenging societal
beauty standards.
Above

I'm also attaching a link to a behind the scenes video of Rico Zombie's project with Dermablend. The artistry is insane, and proves that you should never judge a book by its cover.
