Introduction (Ali Ismail)

I'm not normally the best at starting the conversation hence why I'm usually quiet so l'll hop right into it. I'm a bit of a talker/rambler when it's a topic I'm interested in so I get a bit wordy and talkative. So I apologize in advance if I type way more than what is expected in a mini-post. Regardless, how're you all doing everyone? My name's Ali Ismail and on various websites such as Twitter, Youtube, and even my Gmail I dawn the childhood screen-name of "Bowserslave" based on the villain from the Super Mario Bros games. (If you wanna know why it's gonna take a couple good dinner dates. You don't get all close in the beginning after all) [I feel the need to point out thats partial sarcasm just in case anyone takes that too literally since theres no tone in text].

To help recall or know for future reference, here's a quick pic of me. Personally I have a hard time remembering names so I remember faces and voices easier so if you're like me this'll be better than just hearing my name.

To get into it I'm a Video Production Major in my Junior Year still debating a minor or second major along with it. I started the major last year because I come from a background that was/still is very opposed to my passion and talents, but as I improve I'm slowly convincing them this was right. My Academic goals are to stay consistently well with my grades and not falter while my professional goal/dream is to be a big named Video Editor working my way up and building more and more of my previous work to have a portfolio or to take it a step further and become a Director. Editing was always my favorite part of video making process and like audio not many people seem to be fond of wanting to specialize in this area of the production phase, which fills me with great hope that I can find an editing job when I come out of college. Media of all kinds fits into my interest since I've grown up with all kinds of media and Internet exposure or products as far as I can remember.
I didn't get a chance to say a fact in class when I was called, so one thing I like to think is cool of what I've done was back in High School we had a small local television studio in Bayonne called BEN-TV on Channel 77 [40 on Fios] and I "worked" there. Worked in quotes because it was just the classes I was taking. But around Senior Year I became the Executive Producer and Editor of the weekly TV show "Around the Hive" which was a collection of skits including a segment on clubs, Teacher of the Week, many various humorous skits and commericals, and documentary styled videos on the Ma and Pa owned stores of Bayonne. I even became the sole reason that the class and even teachers figured out how to use Green Screen in Final Cut Pro 7. I saw we had one and when I heard no one used it, I thought it was a crime. So I did my own research and even now my old teachers call me in to help teach the Digital Video Editing class on how to use the Chroma Key for Green Screen. I was a big name in the High School as a result of the work I did and continued to strife for more when entering college.

To wrap it up I'll link a couple of my videos that I'm the most proud of making whether it was for class or a project I just wanted to do. Thanks for reading and I really hope I get to know all of you as more than just acquaintances or "Hey we had that one class that one time".

-Independent Music Video made in Junior Year of High School filmed during Spring Break. Just about everything except the camera work was done by myself, although I directed to him how I wanted each shot to be.

-Final Project for Intro to Video Production Sophomore Year of College Fall. Really proud of the meticulous editing I put into this that most people would not do.

-Short Film for Narrative Production Sophomore Year of College Spring. The hardest project I've ever worked on and one I'm definitely proud of saying I have made a short film, especially considering I took Narrative and Intermediate at the same time which was a great challenge.

There's a lot more I'd like to show but then I'd just be spamming and we're suppose to put one link while I kinda pushed it by posting five. If you have the time watch the ones above. They're not too long.
